The Mississippi Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) will host its Annual Hope Gala, themed Keeping the Promise, on January 24, 2009 at the Country Club of Jackson, in Jackson, MS.
Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1 billion to diabetes research, including more than $137 million in FY2007. In FY2007, the Foundation funded 700 centers, grants and fellowships in 20 countries.
The Mississippi Chapter of JDRF was founded in 1998 and continues to thrive because our volunteers and members, generous with their time and efforts, are committed to finding a cure. Quickly growing to a million dollar chapter, we owe our success to those who support our major special events: the Walk to Cure Diabetes and the Hope Gala.
